Spiced Warm Pear Salsa

We’re tired of people telling us we can’t have chips for dessert. Enter this sweet chip. Sautéed with cinnamon, allspice and dulce del leche, warm pear salsa is the perfect topper for your new favourite dessert crostini.

Spiced Warm Pear Salsa Recipe

Prep time: 10 Minutes
Cook time: 5 Minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp butter
  • 2 ripe pears, peeled finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 cup dulce de leche
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/3 cup chopped toasted almonds
  • Que Pasa Red Corn Tortilla Chips

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a large skillet set over medium heat.
  2. Add pears, cinnamon and allspice.
  3. Sauté for 3 to 5 minutes or until tender.
  4. Stir in dulce de leche, lemon juice and vanilla; bring to a simmer.
  5. Spoon 1 tbsp mixture onto tortilla chips and garnish with chopped almonds.
Tip: Substitute caramel sauce for the dulce de leche. Add raisins to mixture, if desired.
