Ingredients
- 170g honey
- 160g Nature's Path Mesa Sunrise Flakes
- 100g coconut sugar
- 75g sesame seeds
- 1/2 tsp fresh orange juice
Instructions
- Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and lightly brush the paper with coconut or sesame oil to prevent the bars from sticking. Set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, toast the sesame seeds until they are caramel brown. This takes anywhere from 7-10 minutes. Be mindful to stir the sesame seeds frequently to avoid burning. Once toasted, remove from heat and set aside.
- Add honey, coconut sugar, and orange juice to a small pot. Bring to a gentle boil over medium to medium-high heat.
- Once mixture begins to bubble, reduce heat to low and simmer for 4 minutes.
- Meanwhile in a mixing bowl combine heritage flakes and sesame seeds.
- When the honey sauce is ready, pour it over the flakes and quickly fold together. You need to work fast, as the honey solidifies rather quickly and becomes harder to work with.
- Scoop into lined pan and gently press down with a spatula.
- Allow to set at room temperature for 25 minutes.
- Slice into squares and store in an airtight container for up to 10 days.
