LGBTQ Suicide Prevention Partnership
By Love Crunch
At Love Crunch, giving back is at the heart of everything we do. With love as our muse, we are proud to act as advocates for love in all its forms and expressions. For Pride Month, we’re pleased to announce a new partnership with The Trevor Project to support their life-affirming, life-saving work for LGBTQ young people.
We believe everyone has the right to be who they are and love who they want. While ideas around gender identity and love are slowly changing, these remain emotionally charged topics that generate debate and strong opinions.
More than 1.8 million LGBTQ young people in the United States seriously consider suicide every year. For those trying to come to terms with their identity while isolated from loving people and communities who can affirm and accept who they are, being able to reach out to someone for empathy and support can make all the difference.
As the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, The Trevor Project works to save lives 24/7 through free, confidential suicide prevention and crisis intervention programs on platforms accessible to young people.
In addition to their accredited life-saving programs and services, they also run TrevorSpace, the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth. Through innovative education, research, and advocacy programs, The Trevor Project is spreading education and acceptance while letting LGBTQ youth know there's always someone to talk to, wherever and whenever it's necessary.
For Pride 2021, The Trevor Project has a new goal, to serve an additional 100,000 LGBTQ young people in crisis. Through our LGBTQ Suicide Prevention Partnership, Love Crunch will be providing a $10,000 donation, as well as food donations to support them in this important mission. We’ll also be shouting out their amazing work, along with our own original content to inspire, destigmatize, and support.
The work to prevent LGBTQ youth suicide is never easy but we can help to can create a safer, more accepting, and inclusive society for all. Love Crunch is so grateful for the work that The Trevor Project does every day for LGBTQ youth and we are proud to be allies in their cause. Keep an eye out on our social channels and make sure to reshare, tag, and comment to let others know you’re there for support.
